Mike and I traveled to the ‘Burgh for a hockey game Friday night, March 31, and before we booked our departing flights I realized we would be in town for Opening Day at PNC Park! We bought tickets and highly anticipated being there for our first Opening Day for our favorite baseball team. Corey Dickerson was presented with the Gold Glove award and Chris Archer was the starting pitcher.
We really enjoyed the game and it was fun even though we lost. You never know what you’ll experience for a home opener and I’m glad the weather was reasonable for April- 40’s and sunny skies but with a chilly breeze. We enjoyed some pierogies, Yuengling, and being among Pittsburgh fans.
I took my camera but on this trip I forgot my custom white balance card- I couldn’t believe it! I did some editing to these photos and did remember my telephoto lens and lens hood. Our seats were behind the Pirates dugout which gave us a great view of the infield, home plate, and of course the best scenic view offered by any major league ballpark (maybe I’m a little biased). I took most photos in aperture priority mode, ISO 200, f/8.
