Nashville Eats

When I travel I’m always looking for good places to eat and drink coffee. It’s fun to see what the city or region is known for and what people find worthwhile.

Another place Mike and I went to was Hattie B’s for fried chicken. Nashville is known for fried chicken and hot fried chicken. This recommendation came from a Pilates instructor I met through social media and I’m so glad we went to Hattie B’s. We waited about a half hour in line and it was worth the wait, the chicken was delicious and I would eat much more of the chicken!

One place I planned on going to no-matter-what was Barista Parlor. Since I’ve worked in a coffee shop that also roasts its own beans and serves good coffee and espresso, I’m a little picky about my coffee. Barista Parlor did not disappoint! I love their space- East Nashville and Golden Sound, the coffee was great, I love the record player music, and the biscuit with sausage and jam!

My last noteworthy restaurant for Nashville is The Pharmacy, Burger Parlor and Beer Garden. I found this place because I drove past a Mediterranean restaurant, Lyra, on the way to Barista Parlor and checked to see if it was open for lunch. Sadly it wasn’t but The Pharmacy was right around the corner and Mike and I were intrigued! Apparently it’s another great place that people line up outside to wait for a table. I tried a beer from St. Louis and had the salmon burger and Mike had the 3 cheese burger. Both were delicious!

Also I did have Jeni’s ice cream while walking through the Nashville Farmer’s Market at the Bicentennial Park. I recommend having Jeni’s ice cream any opportunity you have, it’s the best!
